DAVE uses 'Directory Change Notification' to monitor changes on the server. In the past, we've encountered servers that do not support this option, so open windows would not be updated promptly. Without Directory Change Notification, the window would only update whenever the Finder decided to ask the server for updated information. V gear mobidtv driver for mac os.

This will happen if anything is changed in the folder (from that client's perspective), or given enough time. We're trying to duplicate a problem in-house. If we can duplicate the symptom, we will be able to gather information here. Can you tell us what version of OS X you have on each computer?

According to, smartcard support should be buit-in. However, in my experience, it's not that easy. You can get compatible card readers, but getting it to work with DOD websites is more problematic. Thursby software has been producing a lot of CAC compatibility software lately, which I believe has to do with the Army looking into Mac OS X servers. Is available which allows you to use your CAC with Safari and log into PKI websites. However, they want $200 for the software.

I'm not sure who they expect is going to pay that much, except the Government, which is another reason I think it is somehow tied to the Army experiment. I sent an email to them asking about some sort of a Home Use program like Microsoft has. According to, smartcard support should be buit-in. However, in my experience, it's not that easy. And it is not what ADmitMac for CAC (AFC) is designed for. AFC is a full Active Directory implementation for the Mac with integrated single sign-on capabilities.

It has passed JITC certification and has a bunch of features that are not for the typical home user. Simple AKO sign-on from home was not a goal of the product. What it sounds like you are looking for is what Apple's advertises as coming with the OS. The problem is that many of these pieces have had problems playing together. For the AFC product we have spent a lot of time (and money) to work around some of Apple's current problems (including things like them breaking Oberthur CAC cards).

These were all meant to be temporary workarounds that ended up helping a lot of home users in the meantime. Instead of some 'Home Use' program where we charge you some nominal fee for these 'fixes', we are reviewing what Apple's public plans are to resolve the issues and then may make some of them available for free. This will probably be decided in the next couple of weeks. Hope that this helps some in understanding why AFC is over priced for what you are trying to achieve, but is appropriate for what the product was designed for. I tried tracking down the FederalSmartCardPackage.pkg likewise, but had no luck. I did find the Smart Card Set Up guide which is different from the FSCP.
