Fujifilm Dpc R1 Driver For Mac
Instead of connecting my C5050 to my computer in order to upload picture files I decided to try the Fujifilm DPC-R1 card reader which is for xD and Smartmedia cards (I am using Olympus xD cards). Despite the card reader and its driver being recognised by my system (I am running Windows 2000 Pro - SP3) and removeable disks 'I' and 'J' displaying in 'My Computer' when I insert the Olympus xD card into the reader it is not recognised. Am I wrong in thinking that an xD card reader should read all xD cards irrespective of brand or does the Fujifilm card reader only read Fuji xD cards?
If anyone has this reader does it work with Olympus xD cards? Thanks for any advice. I have checked various Fujifilm websites but cannot see much information on the card reader and certainly no drivers for it. Tried removing the Fujifilm drivers and reinstalling but getting same result. One thing that I did try was leaving an xD card in the reader and rebooting my system, the card reader then recognised the card and was able to view the images on it. This appears to be the only workround at the moment. I am getting no error messages for the device in Windows 'Device Manager', there are two entries under 'disk drives' titled Fujifilm USB ReaderWriter and both of these are listed as working properly.
Under 'Universal Serial Bus Controllers' I have listed a 'Fujifilm USB Memory Card ReaderWriter' this is also shown to be working properly under 'properties'. Could be an iffy driver when used with Windows 2000 Pro - SP3. Thanks for the suggestions. Harry Jim T wrote: I don't have one, but I don't see reason whatsoever, why Brand name would mean anything. If the XD cards fit and meet the XD spec that Fuji and Olympus have both adopted, the card should be read.
Are there any driver updates on the Fuji web site? Does the reader read CF or Smartmedia? Resume templates for microsoft word for mac. Sounds like the problem I was having with my Firewire Smartmedia Reader. A problem with power to the Firewire port. The PCI bus did not provide enough power for the device to work and only appeared if I left the card in the reader to boot. My solution was to install a powered Firewire Hub designed to power the individual devices. If you reader is plugged into a USB hub I would pull it out and plug directly into the USB on the back of the PC.
If the reader is plugged into a USB port on a keyboard some of these ports are not designed to power devices. I have a Powered USB hub that to date has been very reliable for devices that draw power from the USB line. I'd try various USB ports. How many USB devices are plugged in?

How many USB devices are plugged in? Hi Jim T, A powered USB hub might solve the problem! I have been thinking of getting one for a while but have not got round to it yet. I am running a number of USB devices, a keyboard, mouse and usb cable for my camera all connected to a USB hub on my monitor which is then connected to a USB socket on the motherboard (the motherboard has 4 USB sockets).
The other USB sockets on the motherboard are used by a scanner, digital radio and finally the Fujifilm reader. I know the digital radio is quite a drain on the USB power supply as it requires 500mA which is max I believe for a USB socket. The Fujifilm reader only requires 80mA of power. Harry There are only 2 XD cards at the moment,Olympus's and Fuji's.I cant imagine why you are experimenting with any other reader than the Olympus Camedia USB reader/writer MAUSB-10.Works with both cards perfectly. This is just an update to my original posting regarding the Fujifilm ReaderWriter. I have revisited the Fujifilm website and there is now an updated driver for people using Windows 2000 Pro SP3, apparently the original driver that was on the CD that was packaged with the reader only supported SP1 and SP2.
I've downloaded the driver and loaded it onto my system and the reader is now working perfectly and will read my Olympus xD memory cards without any problems.
