It's all well and good that MAC is intended to get new players into DCS. This is really needed and appreciated. But I really dont see how MAC is a better starting place than FC3.
You are basically paying for FC3 and then as a bonus for paying a bit more you get SU-25T-esque trial versions of the MiG-21, F-5, etc. As well as limited singleplayer trials of the DLC maps. I do not see how I could honestly recommend this to my friends as a starting place over FC3. I'd rather let them start with FC3 jets and then purchase full fidelity modules after they are comfortable instead of wasting money on bonus neutered full fidelity aircraft and maps. If they really do not want to go to full fidelity they can just do the upgrade since they'd have purchased FC3. But I cannot honestly recommend MAC to someone starting out over FC3. I wont even go into how people will think they are purchasing a pack with the clickey F-5 they saw on youtube and not realize they are getting a SU-25T-esque trial version of it.

Is there any reason to recommend MAC over FC3 to new players? Maybe I am not seeing the whole picture. If the majority of players are buying FC planes then it makes sense to expand the range of these aircraft, given the complex systems and flight model work has already been done, it’s now a case of just scaling it back. It’s not like they are developing new planes only for this purpose, they are repackaging an existing product and selling it twice, effectively. They win because of that, and the community wins because they get to fly a bunch of aircraft without paying hundreds of dollars or learning complex systems, which is apparently what most people want out of DCS. The community also wins by introducing more players to the game, with a greater range of aircraft, and additional maps.
Then that revenue helps to fund DCS so we get more high fidelity modules. 'Is the F-15C neutered?' Consults 1992 non-nuclear delivery manual Yes. Appreciably so. The Eagle would be more capable with the additional modes and radar functions implemented. That said, the proper framing of your argument- and one I happen to agree with, is that FC3/MAC aircraft can be effective in the environment with reduced system functionality.
Law of averages, and general employment of aircraft such as the MiG-21 and F-5 is going to keep them in the same modes and settings. Small overall scan volumes and gimbal ranges coupled with near nonexistent look down performance pare away the need for full azimuth control. Weapon selection can be swapped from the switches to a simple cycle button, which ties to changing the gunsight. Air to ground can lose salvo functionality as a byproduct. Startup can be one key or two. None of these things make those aircraft any less effective at doing damage. Less efficient, perhaps less able to search on the extremes of their roles, but able to blow up targets in the environment.

I mean, I've already played through FC3 and have it on my uPlay acc, but I dont mind it being on my Steam. Also the prices off uPlay are ripoffs, thats like 60-100EUR for every edition while I can get them at a smaller discount on Steam. @CraigB I started the farcry games with 3 and I love them.
I've played 3, 4 and primal all the way through several times. I have been waiting for this game since I saw the trailer. I was just looking to pre-order when I saw this.
I don't like it and since the only voice I have is with my money I guess I will not be able to buy this game. Sad really, I was really looking forward to playing it. I will of course write an angry email to ubisoft but it won't do anything. I guess me not buying the game won't do anything either but I am going to post on social media my anger. All of that combined probably still won't do anything, but like I said, it's the only voice I have.
