Dell E6540 Drivers For Mac
Hi all, @ I was reading and saw that you were using a Dell E6540. Did you ever have any success with it?
I have an EXP GDC Beast egpu and a GTX 560 Ti. I have swapped mPCIE places with the WLAN adapter so now it says it's Hot Plug Capable. Windows 7 detects it and says device is working fine, however I cannot get it to actually use the card. It always uses my laptop display, I can't make it switch to the monitor. I've also tried disabling the integrated Intel HD GPU and the dedicated AMD Radeon GPU, but still no joy.

Normally the card would've run in my PC on a pcie 2.0 x16 slot, and I think the exp gdc caps it to x1, right? I don't have a PC anymore to compare how it ran, but it kind of feels sluggish in games (demanding ones, in all honesty). And I'm not sure if I should get a better vid card or if it's the adapter. This is what I have: Would there be any benefit if I were to get?
Besides the obvious better specs and gpu and mem speeds. Put the eGPU under load using GPU-Z - Bus Interface '?' Then observe if i switches from x1 1.1 (2Gbps) to x1 2.0 (4Gbps). If not, then can switch it in using PCIe Ports-Gen2, but need to test if it's reliable.
Often get glitchy 'NVidia driver has stopped responding' transmission errors at Gen2 speed. Otherwise to maximise your x1 link proceed to: - disable the NVidia audio device and use the PC speaker only - use an external LCD attached to your eGPU - set 'Frame rate limiter v2' to 60Hz using NVidia inspector software - lower your game resolution and detail Then can use GPU-Z-sensors-bus load to monitor if your x1 link is getting saturated. If it is then upgrading to a better video card will not remove that bottleneck. Would need say a 10Gbps-32Gbps Thunderbolt1-3 eGPU, with a new notebook to significantly alter that bottleneck. Dgpu off Gen1 + link retrain = works 2. Dpgu off Gen2 + link retrain = Device manager Code 43 error 3. PCI compaction - Ignore dgpu - Run compact All except Sata. Dgpu off Gen2 + link retrain = Windows starts but then black screen. I've tried different variations of the last step and I either get code 43 or it says there are not enough resources. Am I out of luck? For (3), try just a PCI compaction with ignore dGPU, run-scope = eGPU, then do Video Cards-dGPUoff.
While that may fix the error 12 resources issue, your error 43 appears when enabling Gen2 mode. This suggests Gen2 transmission errors requiring a better eGPU adapter/cable via one of the references below or just run it at the slower, but usable Gen1 link speed. Hi, thanks for the info. After reading about how the provided hdmi cable is simply unsuitable for the gen2 clock speed and how interferences can affect it, it all made sense. So I gave up because in the end, the exp gdc proved to be a shitty product and the hassle I had with it for the last 6 months was a waste of time. I can see how gen1 speed would be helpful for some, but for me it's not.

It's all my fault, had an incorrect sense of expectations fueled by the youtube videos, combined with not reading in depth about this subject. I do appreciate nando's software without which I would not have had any success. As a workaround for this, I've decided to buy an miniITX mobo + all the parts and build myself a briefcase computer. Problem solved 🙂.
